Before the last year ended, we were able to go up north and visit the city famous for its annual fiesta and its dried fish. Cadiz City has been known for both but then we tried to drop by and look around to get to know the city more. First stop was a local pizzeria located near the market place at the heart of the city. Nikoy’s Pizza has been running for two years and it serves homemade pizza varying in flavors. Affordable and oh-so-scrumptious, we ended up ordering two plates! After many gulps and burps, we headed to the City Plaza and walked around the city proper to look for more good finds.

Outside the city was the famous Balay Alibangbang or Butterfly House in Hiligaynon. It started out as a hobby that turned out into a great place for school educational trips and further evolved into a great place for functions and special events. We could have covered more if it wasn’t for the unfortunate weather. The fun part was walking back to the highway on the muddy rocky road, we should have asked the trike to wait for us.

Getting there:  A Ceres one-stop ride from Bacolod to Cadiz costs around P64 and will take around 2 hours.  To the Balay Alibangbang, a tricycle ride is ideal and entrance fee costs P30/head with a tour guide leading the way around.
